Summer Outdoor Wedding Survival Guide

Your invitation for the much anticipated wedding has just arrived and excitement is high, then it occurs to you that it's going to be an outdoor wedding and lo! the sizzling summer heat. This is a very common scenario and as a guest to an outdoor wedding you'll want to ensure that you're able to cope, here are tips.

Outfit selection

Select an outfit made from natural fibers such as a cotton sundress or similar. In this case a loose fitting clothing is the best to cope with the heat. Personally I prefer green cotton party dress for outdoor weddings in summer, this is because such an outfit strikes just the right balance between formality, stylishness and comfort. Guys may opt for the good old stylish seersucker or light tan suit.

Be & stay fully hydrated

We all that water is important in helping keep us cool, therefore, bring along a water bottle with you. Ladies can put this in their purse. Gents can ask their date to hold it for them or if you don't have one then consider carrying one in a white gift bag.

Combat perspiration

Sweat can be embarrassing and you don't have to layer your face with plenty of powder, instead borrow a leaf from the best beauty editors. They rid themselves of sweat using blotting papers. Blotting papers are designed to absorb oils and do not coat your skin. There are a number of this product put there and you just have to figure out what works best for you. A good example though not a recommendation are ones from Bobby Brown, these come in a beautiful wrapping. There are also a couple of less expensive options that work just as good.

No sinking Please

Hey ladies, planning on wearing your stilettos to an outdoor wedding? forget it! stilettos are damn good but they're just not good fit when it comes to an outdoor wedding. Be it sinking into the grass, or tripping in the cobblestones, this doesn't make for a beautiful experience, wear stilettos and you'll end up wishing you wore more outdoor sensible shoes. Get shoes with a wedge heel and you'll feel more comfortable. A chic flat ballerina shoes works as swell.

Be well covered

Places like New York tend to be unseasonably cold in mid June, the same applies to San Fransisco in July. Whatever city you're traveling to ensure that you pack a nice warm jacket or cardigan that matches well with the outfit you'll be wearing for the wedding. Remember that light sweaters are good even in summer days in keeping the sun off your shoulders and this is good in preventing sunburn.

Sunscreen is a must

Don't discount the use of sunscreen and especially when attending summer outdoor weddings. If you're looking to stay cool and safe from sunburn then you must bring sunscreen along. The weather can be unpredictable sometimes and you just never know when the sun will shift and leave you exposed with no shade on sight.

A hat is a good Idea

Hat wearing to fancy weddings is common in Europe. Therefore adding a hat to your outfit will shield your face and also add some European flavor to your outfit.
