Her Smile

Her smile is diversely beautiful,
But it can also be the medicine to her pain.
Her smile could represent a silent greeting or interjection,
And it could also represent the sun after the rain.
Her smile doesn’t make the pain go away,
It just helps the symptoms fade.
She smiles after being treated wrong,
Because a lot of people view her as strong,
And very few realize that sometimes
Even she needs a shoulder to lean on.
Sometimes her smile reminds her more of her pain,
Even more than the way that she frowns.
Her frown shows immediate disgust,
Which opens up a dialogue to people she loves.
Her smile could cover up so much.
Even if we knew her entire past
We could not guess which part her smile covers up.
Her smile is diversely beautiful.
It’s a work of art that covers a work of art.
It hides her pain and exposes what she treasures.
So the next time she smiles just remember…
There’s more to her smile than beautiful lips
That are widened to show her current state of pleasure.

More Than What You See

She’s more than what you can see
Or what you think she could ever be
Her face may light up the room
But her heart does have a beat
And she’s far more than your needs

She’s like a jar that’s full of bees
Left alone she could do no harm
But if you pry and twist consistently
Trying to take her honey and leave
You can create the roughest storm

What good is the sense of the eye
If the other senses are pushed aside
If you’re curious of what’s inside
Don’t ask what’s planned for the night
Ask her, “What is her plan for life”

Because this woman could actually be
A whole lot more than what you see
And if you open your doors to misconceive
Giving nothing but expecting something
You’ve just made misery your company

She may be beautiful on the outside
But wants the inside recognized too
But if your only sense is the eye
That’s about as much as you can do
Because her insides require more tools

So the next time you see this woman
Don’t approach her with personal needs
Approach her going at a slower speed
Because on the inside she might just be
More than what you see

What If

It’s our everyday feelings
That makes life go on.
Have you ever thought about
If your everyday feelings were gone

What if you kept a blank face
And your feelings didn’t change
What if your sunny days
Felt the same as the rain

What if you couldn’t feel good
Or you couldn’t get hurt
What if it didn’t mean anything
To get roses at work

What if you couldn’t laugh
And no one could make you smile
What if you couldn’t get excited
About having your first born child

What if you didn’t get lonely
And didn’t need anyone there
What if you told your one and only
You love them and they didn’t care

Imagine a world without feelings
With no receiving or giving
What if life was like this
Would it even be worth living
