All women and men really need to understand this,
You can’t fly high in love until self love has truly landed.
If you don’t love yourself,
How could you look at someone else and demand it?
If you don’t know your worth
You could cheat yourself out of what you deserve,
And love may never go the way that you planned it.
No one can set a better example
Of how to treat you better than you can.
If you attempt to give your love away
When self-love and self-worth are not present,
Your heart could get more jagged edges than a used can.
It’s hard to give someone something that you don’t have.
It’s harder to be faithful to something that doesn’t exist.
Love is supposed to be a gift,
But if you don’t love yourself before you attempt to unwrap it,
All you’re just giving away a wish.
When you learn your worth and become faithful to yourself,
You won’t let any woman or man use you again and again,
Abuse you again and again, or lose you again and again.
Self-love gives you strength to be faithful to who you are,
And build a low tolerance for people who leave you with scars.
If you go to bed every night with the same person
Who makes you feel worthless when you wake up,
You don’t know your worth, because there is no self-love.
Loving yourself decreases your chances of being misled
By temporary pleasures that never take love off the shelf.
You should love and appreciate yourself so much
That no one could ever depreciate your wealth.
Self-love gives you more control over your heart.
When you love yourself as a whole,
You won’t let a sole tear you apart.
If looking into the mirror
Makes you insecure inside,
Then insecurity dwells
Where beauty should reside.
You may think that you can’t see it,
But your beauty is already done.
Keep reading this and believing
That you’re as beautiful as anyone.
If you look into the mirror
With any doubt in your mind
That what you see is beautiful
Remember these four lines.
“Beauty always begins within,
Holding the things that I can’t see,
And once I learn to let go of them
My beauty will show physically.”
God created us all
And his creations are never flawed,
But he left it up to us
To make sure inner beauty’s installed.
When your outer beauty glows,
Don’t let your inner beauty go.
For it’s the beauty we can’t see
That really shows the most.
It’s not about unattractiveness.
It’s about true self-happiness,
And to truly be happy with yourself,
It all begins with this…
Inner Beauty.
Our aspirations to accomplish our goals and dreams
Can easily impair our vision as we work toward those things.
We can become so intoxicated by where we want to be
That we can forget about the standards we had set
For the person who would be with us during our journey.
We can easily lose ourselves
By trying to get to the right place with the wrong person
And we can easily fool ourselves
Into making the wrong person feel worthy,
But when we find ourselves, we realize we’re more deserving.
We all can get lost in a search for something we never had,
But it’s vital to our minds, emotions, and future
That we reintroduce ourselves to the person we used to be.
The longer it takes to realize that we’re neglecting who we really are,
The more we may not recognize ourselves after the scars.
Don’t ever replace your desire to be loved
With your desire to be recognized.
Don’t ever devalue your worth
By accepting depreciating lies.
Sometimes we want it so much
Our impatience encourages us
To skip the entire process of truly developing love.
Love is not made by what you call it.
Love is made by how it is built.
When the process is skipped,
You’re prematurely manufacturing a title
Because your desire to be in love
Has outweighed the desire you originally acquired.
When love keeps going wrong
Because you have chased titles for so long,
By the time God truly blesses you,
Love may not even be what you want.
Don’t sell yourself short to stand tall in a fake world.
That’s waiting to celebrate when you crumble.
Title chasing is for athletes.
If it is your desire to be in love, don’t rush.
Just put your heart in the hands of the man who never fumbles.

One of the most essential things on earth
Is being thrilled about your life,
But you should feel and know your worth
Before God ever sends you a husband or wife.
If you’re always downing yourself,
Or if you’re always frowning
And your lip hits the ground when you’re by yourself,
You really haven’t found yourself.
If you don’t recognize your wealth,
You’re more likely to become prey than a potential mate.
Some people will attempt to bait you in
When they sense there’s no happiness within,
And pursuing happiness through them
Will eventually show you where happiness should begin.
If they are not God, never put yourself in a situation
Where they can say they made you who you are.
If you choose happiness before happiness chooses you,
You will never lose happiness
To a person who uses you and abuses you.
If looking in the mirror makes you feel blue
And you start something new,
You are more likely to confuse happiness with the truth.
When you are the source of your happiness
You will never feel remorse from having it.
But when another person carries the burden
Of making you feel worthy,
You increase your chances of hurting
Because you never did your soul searching.
Another person can bring happiness into your life,
But they should be an addition to the happiness you have inside.
If you choose happiness before you chase happiness,
You will never have to fake having it.

You may reach a point in life
Where you feel like something has to give.
A point to where you have waited and waited
With more patience and more patience
Until your patience becomes so deflated
That it turns into frustration.
You may feel like you have worked so hard for so long
With so much faith that you start to question
Everything you’ve done wrong from day to day.
It’s natural to feel a little down
When your work, patience, and faith doesn’t seem gratifying.
This is when you really should ask yourself…
“Who am I satisfying?”
Are you planting seeds in fruitful soil for personal wealth,
Or are you eager to step the way God wants you to step?
There’s a big difference between praying
That God develops you into the person he wants you to be,
Versus crying for help.
Your cry for help could seem disguised as help for yourself.
But God wants to bless you so you can bless someone else.
So when you become impatiently frustrated
While waiting on your breakthrough,
Make sure you understand what you’re asking God to break you into,
Because your breakthrough may not just be for you.
Make up or no make up
Weight down or weight up
Each morning you wake up
Know that beauty has arisen
You don’t have to work so hard
Once you realize that your beauty is given
White as snow or dark as charcoal
Beauty is your texture
Your beauty within, it projects much more
Than what your outer beauty gives
No matter what man says
You’re God’s beautiful work of art
So feel beautiful when you talk
Feel beautiful when you walk
Feel beautiful when you smile
Most of all…
Feel beautiful as you are

Have you ever had that anxiety attack, anticipating love?
You know, when you meet that certain person,
The one you just can’t get enough of.
When you prematurely listen for wedding bells,
But you’re not one hundred percent sure
Of what love really sounds like yourself.
When you give too much of yourself too fast,
You’re not really taking the time to find out
If what you’re giving is being reciprocated enough to last.
These anxiety attacks of love don’t really attack our hearts.
They attack and alter our minds.
They cause us to forget about what we have
And concentrate on where we think we should be.
This is when the premeditated thoughts in your mind
Attempt to alter the design.
Finding your mate will seem like a daunting task,
If you are impatiently searching for your mate.
If you are as patient with love as love is with you,
You would save yourself a lot of heartaches.
Waking up each day feeling disappointed
Because you don’t carry a certain title
Is more likely to leave you vulnerable
And spinning in a disappointing cycle.
A cycle of days that turn into weeks or months,
Or maybe even years if you’re not as patient as love is.
If you patiently wait for the one who is truly in store for you,
You can truly enjoy life while we’re waiting for something true.
So enjoy who you are and what you already have,
Because love is definitely on its way.
If you want a love that’s pure, sure, and secure
Know that love is not meant to be chased.
It’s not a race. Love is meant to be a gift,
And to properly receive it,
You have to be just as patient as love is.

It’s okay to live outside
Of what the world calls normality.
It’s okay to grow
And create your own reality.
It’s okay to be different.
It’s okay if they won’t listen.
It’s okay if they don’t pay attention,
And it’s okay to be yourself
Without permission.
If you’re anything short of yourself,
Then you’re not giving yourself
The opportunity to live
The life that you were given.
It’s okay if you don’t fit in.
When an object pierces our skin,
We all bleed the same from within.
It’s okay if you’re shorter.
It’s okay if you’re taller.
It’s okay if you’re bigger,
And it’s okay if you’re smaller.
It’s okay if your skin is lighter or darker.
It’s okay if your orientation
Is not the same as theirs.
It’s okay if you don’t walk like they do.
It’s okay if you don’t talk like they do.
The same person who created them
Is the same person who created you too.
No matter how you look.
No matter what you like.
And no matter what you do,
Someone will have something to say,
But I promise you,
It’s okay. It’s okay. It’s okay.
After giving your all
To keep love alive and breathing,
Some way, somehow
Love still ended up leaving.
But don’t blame yourself
Because they didn’t know your worth,
And don’t let what you wouldn’t accept
Allow you to hurt.
Your heart is weak
But it’s still strong enough to beat.
Before long you will realize
They are gone for a reason
And love just had half of a home
The other half was deceiving.
You can still be whole-hearted
Instead of cold hearted.
Don’t give up on love
Because deception is finally leaving.
Don’t neglect what’s right
Because you were done wrong.
Use that person’s distrust
As a cornerstone to build up on.
You can love again.
You just have to learn to trust again.
The last person generated many afflictions within your heart.
Now you’re hurt, because love didn’t go according to plan.
Their contradictions to love have you wondering who you really are,
But beauty doesn’t change because of damage done by man.
Another person can hurt and desert you,
But they can never break you.
It may seem hard to feel whole again when all you know is them,
But realizing they never deserved you will ignite your break through.
You can control yourself, but you can’t control someone else.
You’re hurt, but not broken, so you can definitely move on.
Learn your worth and value yourself more than your past did.
Take your heart away from pain and do what makes you happy again.
Then look in the mirror, smile and say “Look at what I did.”
And with that same smile, forgive them.
Not for them, but to release the pain you were holding.
Once forgiveness has been spoken
You will see that you were hurt, not broken.
